1. I collect cookbooks...the quirk is that I don't have time to cook and when I do...I make the SAME meals...that is pitiful.

2. I love going to the dentist...I've been going every 6 months since I was 2 years old.

3. My favorite lip gloss is C.O. Bigelow (from Bath & Body Works) Cinnamint Mentha Lip Shine.

4. At the checkout line of the grocery store I always buy myself M&M's or Reese's Butter Cups. When the cashier asks me if I want to have it now or put it in a bag, I grab it and say, " I'll have it now...I was a good girl in the grocery store!" All you parents know exactly what I mean by this statement. One of the ladies at Publix knows me so well, she now hands it to me and says," Here ya go baby...you've been a good girl."

5. Depending on what I'm wearing my eyes either look blue or green....In the past, I have even had driver's licenses that stated different eye color.

6. Fall is my favorite time of year...love the weather and the scent of pumpkin spice.

My husband and I and some of our friends went to see Kenny Chesney in concert Saturday night. I wanted to share some pictures with you...but you will have to excuse these pictures...they're not great. I decided to bring my small point and shoot camera instead of one of my big cameras...you know...they are big and heavy and did not want to break it. Well, the crappy point and shoot almost went in to the garbage that night. I was so frustrated... all night I was trying to get a decent picture. I did my best...so here they are.

I've been thinking a lot about weddings lately...And something has really been bothering me...I just didn't know what it was??? Then, it hit me! Did you realize that the photographer is the only vendor that couples will continue to work with after the wedding? The dress doesn't need to be altered, the flowers are dead, the cake has been eaten and your guest have left the reception...but what is left??? All the wonderful pictures and hopefully a wedding album that takes your breath away every time you look at it! With this epiphany in mind...Don't you think more couples need to take this fact into consideration when hiring their wedding photographer???

I came across an article that I wanted to share with you in the Fall/Winter edition of the Premier Bride . It was about the differences in hiring a professional photographer vs. an amateur photographer to photograph your wedding. Most people do not take into account that their wedding day is a ONE day event...there are no "do-overs" or "yellow flag re-starts." The photographer has only one chance to get it right....not just right...perfect! Should you in trust that to an amateur?

I wanted to share the full article with you, but Premier Bride does not have it posted online. So here is a piece of it...I couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks PB for your insight!

"Professional Photography vs. Amateur. The digital revolution in photography has afforded consumers the ability to create photos that can be seen instantly. Unfortunately, those 'awesome' photos on the back of the camera are often ultimately unusable when viewed on a full-sized computer screen or printed. For those of you who have taken what looked like a great picture, only to upload it on your computer and find out that the lighting was horrible, you know what we mean. If you threw it into a picture software program to try to fix the image, you found that the more you auto-corrected the picture, the worse it got. It takes professional training and experience to be able to utilize the ever increasing technological advances in both digital cameras and post-event remastering. There is a vast and insurmountable difference between knowing how to push a button and having the experience, necessary peripheral equipment, a full understanding of technique, and above all, the artistry to produce an output worthy of your event. " Premier Bride Fall/Winter 2008 page 93.

So, not only do I have the experience, expertise, and equipment to do the job right...I have the training that 97% of all photographers do not have...I am a Certified Professional Photographer.

Here is an updated family picture. And in typical fashion, Brock is looking the other way and Jacob has his fake smile on. We decided to wear our Jacksonville Jaguar jersey this year. The boys love sports and they are old enough to enjoy a pro football game, so have bought a ticket package of 5 Jags games. We truly believe that the Jaguars bring a lot to this city and we want to be sure they STAY in this city! So, we hope that more people take advantage of the special ticket packages and support our Jags.

On Saturday night, my husband and I attended the Celebration of Sound Masquerade Ball to benefit the CLARKE Jacksonville Auditory/Oral Center. It was a fantastic night of live and silent auctions, wonderfully spicey New Orleans style food, dancing and guest speaker Vonetta Flowers. Vonette Flowers was the first African-American to win a gold medal in the Winter Olympics. She spoke about her experience as a mother of a deaf child, and how much the Clarke School has changed their lives.

The image above is a New England Patriots helmet signed by the team before the Super Bowl. It was donated to the school for their live auction. It was an exciting bidding war that ended at $1400. Can you imagine what it would have gone for if they had won the Super Bowl and had gone undefeated!!!!!

This is a picture of my grandfather, when he entered the Army Air Force at the age of 18. He was the pillar of strength for our family. He and my grandmother were married for 57 years and raised 5 daughters in Gulfport, FL. They are dancing together on the golden streets of heaven. They will be missed dearly, but my heart is filled with wonderful memories. One day, I hope to be the kind of grandparents they were to me.

Help Children with Cancer

This time of year, we are all thankful and full of excitement that the Holidays are here...But we must remember those families that are fighting the battle of their lives this holiday season. These are families whose children have cancer. They are not worried about getting a specific toy...at the best price. They are praying that everyday their child can endure the chemo treatments and hoping for a miracle. The image above is of a little boy who is dear to my heart - "Baby Jay". His mom was my room-mate and best friend in college. Jay Gaskins was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma (a malignant brain tumor) in September 2003, when he was only 2 1/2 years old. Baby Jay lives with Jesus now and we miss him dearly. His parents Jason and Cindy, with sister Kaitlyn and brother Tanner have started a foundation in his honor. The Jay's Hope Foundation. This is an amazing foundation that helps other families deal with the emotional and financial situations that cancer brings. Click here to read Baby Jay's full story.

Red Tide moves into Jacksonville

Elizabeth and Roy got married at The Hilltop Club in Orange Park. It was a beautiful wedding at a beautiful location. This bride and groom had a very creative idea to honor the Bride's grandparents. Instead of doing a traditional bouquet toss, they gave the bouquet to the grandparents because they were the longest married couple at the wedding...60 years.

This was shot about a week ago, while we were on a much needed family vacation. We watched Mr. Crabby Paddy all morning at St. George Island. He was not concerned that we were so close. Every once in a while, he would get flipped over by a wave....Havre you ever seen a crab "right" himself? That is back breaking work. Many times I wanted to help...but I figured my boys would think its OK to go picking up crabs :)
